6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.
7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
8 Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.
Reflections of 1 Peter 5:7
Reflections on 1 Peter 5:7: In the tender verses of 1 Peter 5:7, a comforting invitation is extended to us: to cast all our anxieties upon the Lord. As we humble ourselves before God’s mighty hand, we find solace in the assurance that He cares for us deeply. The imagery of God lifting us up in due time speaks to His perfect timing and unfailing love. Amidst life’s challenges, we are encouraged to be self-controlled and alert, recognizing the adversary’s tactics. The promise of restoration and strength after a period of suffering echoes the transformative power of God’s grace in our lives.
